ADR Automated Rollercoater
An automated coating system to make ink-jet printed discs resistant to water, scratches and Ultra Viloet. The coating also gives the discs a more professional appearance and costs less than 1p per disc. The automated Rollercoater is available with 375 and 600 disc autoloaders or available without autoloader for manual disc feed.
Application
Due to the high cost of thermal retransfer, inkjet printing for most manufacturing companies is still the cheapest option, offering low costs without sacrificing a professional finish.
With the ADR rollercoater it is now possible to finish the media with a waterproof, scratch, and UV resistant sealed finish. This way you achieve the most professional results and create value for your customers.
The Method
A UV curing lacquer is applied to the CD/DVD/BD or other surfaces using a roller.
This is similar process used in a printing machine. After applying the lacquer, the disk is placed under a UV generator. In a few seconds the lacquer hardens and produces a brilliant surface.
The lacquered finish has a slightly textured surface, thus reducing the glare that is produced with a glossy reflective coating.
